Humidity Testing: What is it and Why is it Important?

There are a variety of factors that contribute to high levels of moisture and humidity that can be associated with issues such as damp, condensation, mould or following a leak or flood.

If your domestic or commercial building has an issue with humidity or moisture, we can conduct a moisture analysis and condensation survey and provide a report detailing our findings with our recommendations to solve the problem. Early diagnosis of dampness in your property through humidity testing can prevent long-term problems occurring later down the line.

CPL t/a Rainbow Restoration use the latest equipment to measure a building’s moisture or humidity levels, which may be prevalent following a water damage incident or can be used as part of our Leak Detection service.  We principally use the following moisture and humidity meters:

• TRAMEX is a remote environmental monitoring system which enables us to remotely monitor relative humidity, temperature and dew point in real time, using a secure platform to store information and notify us of any adverse conditions. This means we can respond quickly to any changes in the conditions and in some cases even reduces the number of site visits required.

• A Protimeter measures moisture on and below surfaces, as well as ambient air humidity.  It can calculate the difference between the dew point and surface temperature using the infrared thermometer and it is often used following water damage in new and existing buildings.
