A Warehouse in Sussex experienced flood damage after heavy rainfall coupled with a nearby blocked culvert, flooded the entire ground floor of the building. The flood water caused significant flood damage not only to the warehouse, offices, kitchenette and toilets but it also damaged nearly all their warehouse stock too, which would have a detrimental effect on their business.
Combining forces, both our branches worked together to deliver the best service for our client and attended the site the same day following instruction. After an initial assessment of the situation, we proceeded to compile an inventory for our client to provide to their Loss Adjuster, given the extensive damage to their stock. We then removed the contents and disposed of any damaged items, whilst decontaminating the building, to ensure the drying process began in a sanitary manner.
Much of the contents and rooms were also contaminated by mould, so we removed mould from the damaged rooms then sanitised the areas. We stripped out the kitchenette, carpet tiles, lino, damaged doors, skirting boards and architraves then decontaminated the affected areas.
Working closely with one of our drying equipment suppliers, we developed a specialist drying regime. This included the installation of a specialist desiccant trailer dryer and injection drying to dry out the warehouse, whilst enabling the company to continue trading. Deploying a single drying machine reduces the amount of electricity used, rather than using multiple smaller drying machines on site, to dry the building whilst using the perfect blend or warmth and dry air, to return the building to pre-incident moisture levels within 14 days. Finally, we power washed the outdoor loading area to remove any debris and silt.
Due to our rapid response and the nature of the drying regime deployed, we significantly reduced the customer's time and costs associated with loss of earnings.
